I spent the last year & a half honing my audience strategy skills at NYU.
I joined NYU’s Studio 20: Digital Journalism MA with a background in video journalism, digital marketing, and film production. As a graduate student I learned about audience-first journalism and membership strategies, and grew passionate about pursuing a career in audience work.
I gained audience experience through Studio 20 projects like…
I also had the opportunity to present my work on TikTok at the 2022 Online News Association Conference in Los Angeles, alongside Intercept video producer Travis Mannon.
Audience journalism is my forte but I still have so much to learn. I’m eager to grow in my career and gain more experience in SEO, audience research, data analytics, and more.
I gained audience experience through Studio 20 projects like…
- Workshopping Documented NY’s newsletter strategy and pitching a new feature to their weekly newsletter that would connect their WhatsApp audience with their newsletter audience. We hoped that connecting Documented NY’s undocumented readers with their network of immigration professionals would provide resources to undocumented communities across NYC.
- Partnering with The Intercept and leading my cohort as a project manager to launch The Intercept on TikTok. I taught journalists how-to-TikTok, and helped grow their following to 2,000+ in 3 months.
- Researching growth and sustainability for journalism on TikTok for my master’s thesis. My focus was on how smaller newsrooms or video teams could sustain TikTok with limited resources.
